I originally got this because HOW COOL IT IS ALARM CLOCK! Then I couldn't figure out how to close it, it seemed like something was wrong with it because the gate wasn't closing properly from the top, so I called customer service. The guy did nothing and told me that it would be best to just return it. I am getting a second gate and this time they have instructions stating that for easier installation the zip ties should not be pinched prior to installation. Well, we zipped it up because there was a guide wrapped underneath. But with this direction we found that the door will line up with the latch once you install it! So I installed it for a few days and there are a few things you should know! at a 90 degree angle, then it stays open. If you don't open it all the way, it has a nice spring action closing it behind you. ALSO the door opens in both directions! #4 Alarm - has an on/off switch and requires the 2 AAA batteries provided and is loud enough to be heard in the next room but not very loud. Gate #5 can be installed permanently or installed like me (see pic) but it comes with holding cups on all 4 ends and you can either screw them on or stick them to the wall with 3m tape. End caps, screws and tape are all included with the gate. #6 There is a crossbar that goes through the bottom of the gate which can result in a nice bruise toe but I haven't caught myself yet so right now I'm just laughing at others with their sore toes! Otherwise worth a try, the return process is very easy and I had the choice of free collection or shipping without having to print any labels!
