We eat A LOT of waffles at home. I've been making them in a Pokemon waffle maker for three years. Finally upgraded to this cooking gadget. First, the latch is easy to use when the device is hot and works great. The overflow ditch is appreciated but is decreasing in volume. If you overfill, you'll still have drips on the side. Using the included measuring cup helps, but then you need to clarify one more thing. Just practice finding the right amount of liquid in the mixing bowl by eye and you'll get there. The Chefman heats up quickly, and while the blue ready light is dim, it's visible when there's no sunlight. The non-stick coating works great. We have probably 50 waffles on this thing and I have NEVER spilled oil on it. The waffles come out easily. I use Kodiak waffle pancake mix with milk (instead of water) and one egg per cup of mix. https://www.amazon.com/Kodiak-Cakes-Flapjack-Buttermilk-Chocolate/dp/B08P55514T/ I use level 4 and cook waffles in 2.5 minutes.
