This review is for a set of 4 battery operated garlands. Priced at $16.95 at the time of this review is around $4.25 per string which I think is a good deal for their quality. The lit length of each string is 16.4 feet, plus the battery. The lights themselves are small bumps on copper wire, which I prefer to mini bulbs for their warm, flickering appearance and durability. "Warm White" is a pleasant yellow-white color. The great thing about copper wire lights is that they will never burn out and the strand can be shaped or wrapped around wreaths, Christmas decorations, jewelry or home decor and will hold its shape. I have many copper garlands, some of which have been around for many years, and none of them have ever broken or stopped glowing. Each string requires 3 AA batteries, these are not included. The obvious benefit of battery powered lights is that you can place them anywhere, in places where there would normally be no light due to a lack of electricity near the outlet or because you don't want to run the power cord there. However, I do NOT usually buy battery powered flashlights anymore because they are very difficult to turn on and off and I keep forgetting to leave them on and drain the batteries in a day. That's not a problem with these lights because each strand has a timer! There is only one timer option, 6 hours on and 18 hours off, but I find it perfect for me. These lights currently adorn the cornice on my front door, a decorative display on my tall built-in bookcase and mantel. I set them to turn on at 5:30pm when I get home from work and it's getting dark, and then automatically turn off at 11:30am when I go to bed. I enjoy them every night without being afraid to turn them off and wake up the next day with dead batteries. The timer works perfectly and remembers which mode you turned the light on. Speaking of settings, each strand has 8 different settings. One of the settings is the usual "always on" and the rest are various patterns of blinking, blinking, appearing and disappearing, and flickering. Please watch my video to see all 8 available templates. You can also dim these lights in 10 different levels which is amazing! This way the batteries last longer and don't have to shine brightly when you use them in a dark room. You change the settings and set the timer with a small remote control. Each of the 4 chains comes with a remote control (and they work with the rest of the threads too!) and the batteries were already in the remote controls. Another great feature of these flashlights is that they are waterproof. You shouldn't submerge the battery box in water, but the flashlights themselves can get wet easily. The lighted wreath on my front door has withstood rain and sleet well. The battery box is hidden behind a wreath but was definitely caught in the rain unscathed. The only small downside I can think of is that there is incorrect English/weird grammar in the instructions, the headlights must be made in China. However, the instructions were easy to follow and didn't interfere with use. I will say that they were packaged very nicely and you can tell from the instructions that this company stands behind their product. I can't say enough good things about these lights, I may even order another set for Christmas decorations! Update: I originally put batteries in all 4 of these light stands in late October and set a timer to automatically turn them on for a while. 6 hours every night. It's December 15th now and they've been running every night non-stop for over a month and a half. I just noticed that the batteries are getting low and the light is dimming. I think a month and a half is a surprisingly long battery life given 6 hours of daily use!
