Review on Zenia Indigo Powder: Premium 200g Hair/Beard Dye in Indigofera Tinctoria Color by Carol Perez

Works for a two step process.

I used this in a two step process. My henna was Godrej Nupur Mehendi Powder 9 Herbs Blend, 150 grams, first mixed with warm Goya coconut milk. Then I added zenia indigo powder (almost the entire 100g pack), 1 tbsp sea salt, almost hot water (helps dissolve the salt), 3 tsp nupur henna, and 1 tsp guar gum powder (this helps the to make the mixture softer). Stir, then let stand 10 minutes, until a blue-dark green glaze forms on top. I applied it to my hair (natural African American hair) and let it darken for up to 1 hour 30 minutes. At first it was easy to wash off with water. Then I did another conditioner with moisturizing conditioner. I've achieved a dark color tending towards a rich black. It got darker the next day and I was happy with the color and coverage. My goal is to cover the gray mostly on the front half of my head. I applied this at home and recently got my hairstylist to apply 2 steps so I can get better coverage. It's difficult on my own, and I found I didn't understand the back of my head very well. I noticed that after 3 weeks it turns brownish red. I do the 2nd step to the approach from the 6th week because I don't like seeing my gray hair. This product arrived on time from this supplier. I used another supplier for indigo and then their indigo powder went up in price more than I was willing to pay. After searching, I found my Henna (Godrej Nupur Mehendi Powder 9 Herbs Blend, 150 Grams 3 PACK) and Zenia Indigo from this seller for less than $15. It seems that the price might change when the stock is low. But overall, ordering these products from this store fits my budget. I am happy with this purchase and will order again.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky
