Hello. I'm an art teacher part-time. Since many of my students typically don't have or can't afford adequate materials, I looked for simple and affordable materials that I could buy as a "class set" if you'd like. These pencils have a pointed tip and are sorted by sharpness, making them easy to use right out of the box. In fact, they were so eager to get out of the box that the box was ripped open, causing several pencils to spill out of the box upon delivery. This wasn't a huge problem though, as none of the pins were lost or damaged. The pens are great value for their quality and I recommend buying them for yourself although it might be a good idea to rewrap them if they are a gift.
