Problem Solved: Welding and Soldering

I hated the original version very much, the screwed levers were not well thought out, they often interfered with other uses of my Panavise and were more than a hindrance. Once they switched to a magnetic weapon, which has changed significantly, and. This company was absolutely second to none in how they handled my low level of satisfaction with the original type. very solid four stars. Those who work with slightly larger items than I do and/or don't use the Panavise tray base will likely give this item a full five. Here are the points that make me give only four stars to the current version of this article BUT the other model (Deluxe, with a large flat plate and 5 branches) that I ended up receiving is undoubtedly a full five: the Handles are too springy for very light items (but this problem decreases with use), causing some positioning issues. works to a tight tolerance but with the magnetic base on my hands I can now fine tune their position so my biggest problem is now more or less solved. If you're also using a Panavise 6-tray tray base, the way it's cut partially blocks the tray slots, making it difficult to retrieve very small items from under the tabs. This isn't a problem if you don't have a tablet. base, or if you don't usually work with small objects. The processing quality is very good. Heavy gauge steel, no sharp edges, precise cutouts and appears to have a very good powder coat finish. If you have a Panavise base with 6" x 8" trays, grab the Deluxe model and then simply place the entire Panavise unit on top. very stable and it sticks out far enough on each side of the base of the round tray to attach the magnet arms meaningfully and you can use it independently too. I found this setup to be much more flexible than the one attached directly to the Panavise, but it does free up a bit more real estate on your desk, or a lot more space if you don't have an 8-inch, 6-bay base.

Pros
  • IF YOU NEED AN ARM: Screw the PanaVise (not included) to the mount, then place the flexibly adjustable arms anywhere on the magnet plate. Fix an object (PCB) for precision soldering, painting or repairing. Work with your mind, not with force!
