I have two doors that gave me problems. One would not stay open (bathroom) and the other would not close (back door). As for the bathroom, when the door was closed people thought someone was there when in fact it was empty. The back door was left open for anyone getting in or out and didn't close the door manually and bugs got in or my dogs got out. After looking at more expensive closers I decided these were the only springs I needed. The easy installation and simple design mean fewer things can go wrong or break. You can adjust the tension when closing the door, how tight or loose you adjust the spring. The only thing to watch out for is that you have to be a bit more careful with the door (which closes) as it can close you if you are not careful and can trap your hand/finger.
