We have a 1200 gallon pond with 4 koi and a few tadpoles in Southern California where there is an algal bloom. For 2 weeks the water was cloudy and green and I tried everything to clear it. Beneficial bacteria, water changes, koi clay and filter cleaning have had little effect. Read an article claiming this cotton can help and find out the price was worth it. I cut the cotton into 4 pieces and put them in my waterfall. Every 2 hours I would take them out and rinse them and then bring them back to the waterfall. 1 day later my water was crystal clear! I went from seeing 18 inches to being able to see heads or tails a dime 40 inches down. Do without chemicals and expensive pond products and give it a try!
