Review on 🌟 Wella Koleston Perfect 1: 9/0 Very Light Blonde/Natural Permanent Hair Color, 1.0 Oz by Amy Peterson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This is a beautiful colour.

This is a dark blonde shade (level 7 in Koleston is actually level 6; it has a dark level because it is made in Europe where the level system is different) with a neutral (0) brown ( 7) base. The brown base is unique to Koleston, I don't know of any other professional line that has it. This shade is half of the Koleston 7/7 shade. This means that it is semi-diluted. The brown base contains a small amount of copper and is very subtle in this shade. It turns out a bronze dark blond. My hair is natural level 4 and I use this with volume 30 peroxide which lifts 3 levels. The result is a beautiful dark blonde with a very slight hint of copper. I have about 40% gray and this shade looks completely natural. I accidentally discovered Koleston a few years ago while looking for hair color advice. I have learned that Koleston is a leading professional brand. This purple tube product is the old Koleston formula, but it works the same as the new blue tube formula. If this is your first exposure to Koleston, here's the key to the numbers (and Color Touch's semi-permanent formula number). 1=ashy (green - suppresses reds), 2=blue (mutes oranges), 3=gold, 4=red, 5=red/purple, 6=purple (mutes yellows), 7=brown, 8=blue (overrides orange for lighter shades), 9 = Cendre (gold for lighter shades). I can't say enough good things about Koleston. It doesn't look like any pharmacy color. There are an infinite number of color combinations, so almost any shade is possible. However, there are very few purple-based options, and this is a problem for those looking for a platinum blonde. In the case of drugstore colors, there is little evidence of the base color of the nuances. For example, ash can be green, blue, or gray and there's no way of knowing what you'll get. That's why you rarely get paint on the box. Every hair is different. Brunettes who want to lighten their hair have problems with red or orange, depending on the base color. Too much red or orange spoils the result. With Koleston, that's no problem. Just choose the right base color. I was a level 8 blonde for years and used Koleston 9/8 (remember it's not a level 9, it's an 8) with 40 vol peroxide. I had the perfect blonde for my fair but not fair skin tone. If you are considering this shade (7/07), consider using 7/73 which adds a subtle golden hue to the brown base. It's just wonderful. 7/07 is diluted 7/7, and 7/7 is great too. If you want to try a color, use Color Touch. Most Koleston shades are available in the Color Touch formula. Use Color Touch with Color Touch Developer at 4% (1.9% is too temporary) or for longer lasting results use with a good (non-generic please) 10 volume developer (10%). You can combine 7/73 and 9/73 (equal parts) to get 8/73. Color Touch works on at least 2 dimming levels. If you want to try on a color, go up two levels. If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask. I've been using Koleston and Color Touch for 10 years now and change my hair color often so I have experience with almost every shade and combination. Koleston gives a permanent shine (like Color Touch) and the color stays natural. I can't give more than 5 stars, but I would give 10 if I could.
