Review on Beard Care Kit Men Ultimate by Diane Brown

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The sealed set is without scissors and smells very strange. - Edited: Problems solved! (see below)

The kit arrived today and was sealed with no visible damage. The foam has a cut out for scissors but there are none in the packaging. I was also expecting a hardcover book but couldn't read reviews from others saying the book was not included. It was also mentioned that the oil and balm are odorless, which is normal. I would prefer cedarwood or woody scented oil. However, when I opened the box, I was greeted by, shall we say, an unpleasant odor, somewhat reminiscent of rancid vegetable or nut oil. So far I like the wooden comb and the boar brush. I just haven't figured out the balm and oil yet. EDIT: I contacted the Viking Revolution website and explained the issues above. Victor emailed me back and said he was sorry and would take care of it. He sent me scissors and a template to model with. Turns out the scissors are bigger and better than the one originally included in the Ultimate Kit. How do I know? - Well, they're a lot bigger than the styrofoam cutouts in the kit box. It also has a small comb and is packaged in a faux leather case. I'm a leatherworker myself and even for a non-leather case the quality is still pretty good. I don't need a stencil at the moment - my beard isn't very big yet but it offers 3 different shapes in one stencil and looks pretty strong - not thin at all. I used to be in a 3 star review but since Victor topped the call I'm giving them 5 stars with this edit. Oh, and as for the oil I went - once I took it out of the foam bag, ripped off the plastic and used it - the smell seemed to go away. I think it was foam or some industrial artificial chemical smell I caught. My beard looked nice and full. Well done Viking Revolution.
