Great speakers for the price

I bought these for my home office. I have a work laptop and PC connected to one of my Samsung 34 inch ultra wide monitors via desktop display port and laptop HDMI. I connected speakers to the headphone jack on this display for easy switching between computers. Initially the sound was flat, but I realized this had more to do with the source than the speakers themselves. IT departments rarely allow customization of work computers, so downloading an equalizer is not an option. Go to system settings in microsoft windows > sound > sound control panel > select audio source > properties > advanced tab > then for my pc i went to 'enhancements' and enabled 'volume equalization', instant sound improvement, but that made everything Windows sounds are much louder, so I went to the Communications tab and lowered the volume of other sounds by 50%. Volume control wasn't an option for my laptop, so I went to Spatial Sound > Windows Sonic for Headphones and searched for 7.1 virtual surround sound, which wasn't available on my PC. Both computers now sound like they have more expensive speakers connected. Why am I saying this? You have to have realistic expectations if you want hi-fi sound to be a self-proclaimed "audiophile" then buy a hi-fi setup that will cost you at least 5 times as much. I set up a true 7.1 surround sound home theater in my living room, but after completing the Edifier setup I played Bassotronics Enchanting Bass, Vol. 2. To test the sound quality, my wife went into the office and said, that it sounded better than ours. Living room. I told her it was also about the size of the room and the staging, if you have a small office this is perfect and way better than the Bose Companions it replaced.

Pros
  • Good workmanship
Cons
  • I don't really like anything, everything is fine
