These are cute jeans. My son just turned 5 and is an average height and weight. I have these XS jeans and they fit perfectly. Usually there are problems with the proportions of the waist and legs - if the waist fits, then the pants will be a little short, and vice versa. These pants are fitted around the waist (no drawstring) and have a long leg length with some play at the ankles. They will likely last a year before becoming too short due to previous body size. So if you're looking for pants that will last a while, go up a size. (Or if your kid is way above average.) The pants are cute - my son loves the gray jeans with the monster face on the pocket. Be sure to wash before wearing - the color of navy blue jeans flows. It's good that they have an elastic waistband and drawstring as my son has trouble with buttons and zippers on regular jeans. He finds it easy to put them on and take them off himself. Very good pants.
