After reading some online reviews on Apple blogs I decided to give them a try, especially since I had been waiting for spotlight-sized Philips Hue bulbs for six months. I have Hue lights all over my house, so I know very well how they work. So I tried these Meross lightbulbs and was disappointed and blown away. First of all, out of the four lights I received, one was dead on arrival. It just wouldn't turn on. Setting up HomeKit was very easy, which is nice. However, once they were connected and configured, I noticed problems. Right off the bat, they don't support HomeKit adaptive lighting like Philips, and I love that. Then I noticed that it's not smooth at all when they turn on, turn off, or change the brightness. They blink, go off, up and down. Again, there's no fading like Hue bulbs. But for me the biggest problem is that they have a serious color error. I set up a stage for my theater that turns them blue and it looked fine, but I noticed that the bulbs didn't change color when I switched from a regular white light stage to a theatrical stage. After many tests, I found that if I choose blue after choosing red or green, the lights turn blue, but if I choose blue after they are any shade of white, the bulbs don't turn blue. This also applied to my theater stage, so the light wasn't changing colors the way I wanted it to. To me, all of this together is a violation of the terms of the contract. These bulbs are just cheap and unrefined. They will be sent back and I am waiting for the Philips Hue bulbs to be back in stock.
