Review on πŸ’‘ BSOD Controller: Ultimate Rechargeable Emergency Lighting Solution by Darrell Beecher

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Decent product, terrible delivery time

Thought I wouldn't like this toy but it actually works well. It's not such a terribly bluish cold LED light, more like a little warmer. I use it in the sanitary area. The remote control is what makes it work for me. Other emergency lights stay on when the power goes out, or you have to turn them off manually with the bulb switch. This one turns on, but I can just point to the remote and turn it off to save battery. If you want it to work like a regular lightbulb with no emergency function, the wall switch will work as normal. However, if you want to use it as an emergency light, but still want to turn it on and off with the wall switch, you will find that it "turns on" (with the battery) when the wall switch is in the "down" position. " and "off" position. ". when the wall switch is in the up position. It will charge when the wall switch is in the "up" position, but will not emit any light (you will see a glowing red button). The remote control may block the wall switch. I've found that the three bulbs I'm experimenting with have some utility during a power outage in my cabin. This one is the smallest and fits more lamps. It has a few uses but doesn't seem overly bright. The Pressure light also needs to have a special light to allow it to charge, but it will not light up until the power is turned off or the circuit is broken. If it turns off, you must physically push the button on the bulb to turn it off, which is why I don't think it's suitable for ceilings.Another bulb I just received is a smart bulb.It switches on like a norm ale wall lamp on and off but it's a terrible blue light which is awful unless you really need it in an emergency. However, it emits a large amount of light to the bulb. It's also pretty cool that you can pour water or spit on your finger and form a chain that makes it glow or put it in some water. The smart lightbulb is HUGE. Not suitable for all devices with harps or lids. I use them outside the house because they need to be turned on from time to time to keep the charge going. Or plug it into an outlet that you keep on all the time. Like Anpress, the smart bulb can be used as a flashlight when removed from the bulb socket. I plan on keeping a few charged so the emergency lights will go out in 5 hours if the power goes out. Then I will replace them with charged light bulbs for another 5 hours of work. Of the three, I would say the Magic Light Bulb is the most functional for my needs. It's also nice that one remote can control other magic lights so you don't have ten remotes hanging around. It's not as bright, but the light is softer and more homely. I plan to order more BUT the wait time from ordering to receiving this product is absurdly long - one to two months. For me it's almost a deal breaker. To be honest, due to the price and wait time, I would recommend buying some other bulbs as spares (Anpress has fast shipping) while you wait for the magic bulb to arrive. I haven't verified the actual battery life. Will do a test later to see how long each bulb can last when turned off and stored after charging. I chose lamps that should last 4-6+ hours without recharging.
