Love that this battery operated bulb fits in our chandelier fixture. We didn't want to hire an electrician to hook up power to our ceiling, so I was very happy to find this lightbulb. It can also be used as a regular light bulb. In fact, you have to connect it to an ordinary light bulb with electricity to charge the light bulb. I totally agree.

I needed a lightbulb that 1) would fit in a standard socket; 2) worked remotely; 3) Battery or rechargeable battery operation. It meets all three requirements and does it well. Thought I wouldn't like this toy but it actually works well. It's not such a terribly bluish cold LED light, more like a little warmer. I use it in the sanitary area. The remote control is what makes it work for me. Other emergency lights stay on when the power goes out, or you have to turn them off manually with the bulb switch.
