This is the second collar I've bought, the first has a manual control. Pros: This device is automatic and reacts immediately when our dog starts to bark. So the feedback is immediate, which is good. I noticed that our dog quickly learned to only bark once or less with the collar on. Even with the most sensitive, we have not had any false positive situations. Cons: It doesn't help with growls or other quieter sounds that a manual block would allow. I set this device to its most sensitive setting and it only picks up on barking (which was intentional). Overall I was very satisfied and can only recommend it.
