I've wanted one of these for a long time for a project I had in mind. It's psychologically very difficult to mount a camera worth several hundred dollars on the side of a fast-moving car. with a set of suction cups for $13. But I also never felt like spending a hundred bucks on one of those "high-end" setups because it seems pretty cheap too. Anyway, I finally bit the bullet and bought this one, the cheapest that also (in my opinion) has one of the most thoughtful designs in terms of articulation design. It arrived today and I couldn't resist doing some impromptu testing with it - I've mounted it to porcelain, smooth vinyl, glass (obviously) and even shiny wood surfaces. I am impressed. This thing is damn strong and feels really solid! Would I put my DSLR on it? Eh not in a dangerous scenario, but he can hold it no doubt. I will continue to run a GoPro with a security cable as a failsafe. But I'm so glad I didn't spend seven times more for something that would essentially do the same job with the same efficiency.
