I bought this for the new Dell XPS 17 (9700). Works great, not too loud (but definitely louder than computer fans) and matches the computer in color and style for what it's worth. The fans are built into plastic frames that simply snap into mesh openings from below. This gives you some flexibility in positioning under your laptop. The laptop is held securely and I'm not afraid of it slipping off the rubber grips. This computer's fan power cable requires a USB-C adapter. I like the thoughtful design that allows you to connect a USB-A device to the same cable. I use it for my wireless mouse receiver. This cooling pad is also quite small and light weight, even fitting in my 15" laptop bag along with the computer, charger and other accessories. I can take it anywhere. Some people might find it a bit expensive for what you get , but I think it's good value for a great design.
