I have this for shoe cleaning and leather conditioning. Very easy to apply with a small brush. The product itself is a thick liquid, not quite a paste. It comes out of the bottle cream colored but becomes clear/colorless when rubbed in. I usually apply it with a small horsehair brush. Then let it dry for about half an hour. Then buff with another clean brush or lint-free cloth. This greatly improves the look of the shoe. I'm not sure you could do this too often, but I don't see the need to do it more than once a month or so. I can imagine that if you work with your leather boots/boots in a very dry environment, or if they get wet (and heat dry) frequently, you might want to use this more often.
