Review on Kalevel Cording Babylock Euro Pro Simplicity by Sasha Hsiao

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Poorly made but workable after some fine tuning

Can't expect too much from a product at this price point but this sewing foot is definitely not machined. The chrome plating process has left jagged peaks, especially in the thread channels, that rip decorative carvings. Since the foot fits my Juki DX7 and everything else seems fine, I decided to clean the holes with a 1mm rotating cleaver. (just hold it in my fingers, no power tool) and then sand down the remaining "pips" with thick cotton thread and metal polishing paste I borrowed from our local car enthusiast. The sole of the sewing foot also had to be polished. Now I am very happy with the result and I can process my patchwork quilts with threads thick as cotton or fine knitting yarn. The foot itself runs smoothly, that is, the sole has the correct shape, it does not pinch the fabric. You will need a needle threader or thread loop to pull the decorative thread through before clicking the presser foot. Since the Juki doesn't have such a couch foot, it's about the best it can be. If you need it, buy it and also grab a cheap 1mm drill bit if you don't have such around your house and some metal polishing paste and finish this thing off before using it on your heirloom ceilings.
