We got Rock Band 2 for Christmas and I wanted to use the game with two guitar options. I purchased this standalone guitar based on information from several websites that it will work with Rock Band 2. She does. We had several successful jam sessions. The only drawback is the volume of the strumming. If you're playing alone, at a low volume, or with headphones, the clicking sounds can be somewhat distracting to you or others in the room. The Rock Band 2 guitar has a slight strum streak.
