These mics run on 2 AA batteries, but what I like about these mics is that they don't drain the batteries as quickly. They are really easy to put in batteries and set up. As you can see in the video, after inserting the batteries, just turn on the microphones and you're done. However, to use them wirelessly, you need to connect the receiver to a speaker. Once connected, it will take about a minute to fully connect. After that you can use the microphones. Great for a karaoke night for our small family. They are really easy to use. What I thought was cool is that they come with mic covers to protect them. They even come with stands that can be placed on top of the microphones. Very easy to use and the sound in our speaker is clear.
