Review on Maximize Sun Protection With SAILEAD Car Sun Visor Extension - A Reliable Solution For Sun Glare! by Tim Thornton

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good solution for the Prius V

The sun visor in the 2013 Prius V leaves a gap between the mirror and the end of the visor. Worse yet, when the visor is positioned on the side window, it does not extend back very far. The result is unblocked sun glare, which is sometimes very annoying. Other cars I have owned have a built-in visor extender that can be slid in and out, but not the Prius V.This visor extender is a good solution. It includes a black opaque shield that is held against the sun visor with 1" wide elastic straps. The extender is easily installed, and can be adjusted slightly upward and downward as needed. It adequately covers the gaps that are left by the built-in visor. My only complaint is that the visor extender and the straps are black, and detract somewhat from the interior appearance. I would have appreciated a gray color that would match the Prius interior.

Pros
  • Can be adjusted to any angle for optimal sun protection
Cons
  • It may not effectively block the sun from other passengers in the car

The Velcro wasn''t stitched the right way to fit the drivers side so I had to stick it to the fabric. It still blocked the vanity mirror of course. Then I tried pulling out the shade panels. They are thin plastic sheets and entirely too flexible. They are also only secured by some wide elastic bands which means you need to pull carefully or they go sideways and wedge. There you are trying to drive when you need two hands to fiddle with opening or closing the lower or side panel! So I''m returning it.
