Has been working for less than a year/no support

Stopped working after one season. Not endorsed by Honeywell. Honeywell websites (and there are many) cannot even find this model using the search function. Honeywell owns Sperian (who owns Howard Leight who makes similar devices) - could this be the reason for the lack of support? Still, the audio part is broken and I'm left with a very overpriced set of "normal" headphones. I first bought a pair of Syncs from Stanley (light yellow, identical features). My wife was starting to use a pair of Stanleys so often that I needed another set, so I bought her a Honeywell unit and kept the Stanley set for myself. The Honeywell device has survived a season of very infrequent use and is ready to go. The Stanley kit is three years old and works great. The two devices look the same but have a few design differences: 1. Honeywell's battery compartment is very easy to open, sometimes too easy. The Stanley battery compartment cover requires very strong pressure before the cover moves.2. Both blocks have a metal bridge in the battery compartment. On the Honeywell device, the jumper is loosely plugged into the slot and the jumper slides over it. The Stanley unit has the bride firmly in place, with no movement, even after three years of non-stop use (and multiple battery changes). was either redesigned to reduce costs or it's just a fake. I will be purchasing another Stanley set to replace this one. If the new Stanley kit has the same build changes as the faulty Honeywell unit I will update the review.

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • So far so good
