These locks were purchased for an international group trip when we knew luggage would sometimes be lying in semi unsecured locations waiting to be sent to our hotel room or loaded on a tour . bus or ship. They worked great. My luggage was checked by the TSA in the US (according to the note in my suitcase) but there was no sign of the combination locks being broken on any part of our trip (I set the numbers to a specific alternate number each time, when I closed the lock - not a reliable way to learn, but close). Of course, the wires could probably be cut by someone with strong enough scissors; but the cheap locks that come with most luggage are easy to pick or break. I did it and I'm not Houdini. The combination was easy to install. And it's way better than keeping track of a tiny key. These locks are perfect for TSA to do their obsessive business and international airports see no need to open suitcases.
