I purchased this pack of 'white' washcloths at the same time as a pack of white towels from another seller/manufacturer. I washed them in the same load, warm water, regular detergent. The towels came out soft, brilliant white, perfect. The rags were just as stiff and rough as they had been before washing, and laying them side by side I could see that the rags were a dull, dirty yellowish color. They look like they were used to steep coffee or tea and the stain didn't come out. Just awful! There is no way I can use them in the bathroom with nice white towels. Now I have 24 kitchen towels and need to find/buy new washcloths! If you would like a coarser, finer washcloth in a color other than white, this may be fine for makeup removal or scrubbing in the bath/shower. I personally wouldn't recommend them.
