Oyen Digital is great in every way! I was the first to review this Thunderbolt 2 predecessor - it worked great but was a bit noisy and had screws - when I found and saw many 5 star reviews for this new replacement I couldn't wait to get it . A couple of times I called tech support about the capacity of the "old" box, someone answered the phone really quickly, was polite and informative - unlike almost all customer service these days. I gave them my "wish list" for the best device and they replied! No more drive trays, no more dual fans (much quieter than the previous single fan model and now with better cooling), and no more pesky external power supplies. ! I expect this based on my experience with Oyen, but wow - they excel in every way (see the other 5 star comments). Just got mine and put in two 14TB WD (old HGST Helium) and BAM - much quicker to assemble and copy (using the included USB C to USB 3 converter cable as I don't have a USB C yet) - incredible speed increase over Thunderbolt 2. Don't make my mistake and don't buy a cable unless you need a longer one - it's included - thanks again Oyen! with a list of 3.5 powered and non-powered drives, and DO NOT purchase powered drives. Disable the feature, otherwise it will most likely not work. It's easy to look at the drive number and part number to find the right one. My old box still works fine but this one is sooooo good I might need two. No more fiddling with my monitor at the end of the Thunderbolt chain with the drive in the middle and plugging and unplugging Thunderbolt cables to turn the drive off and continue using my monitor - now just remove the drives and turn it on out. Brilliant! This is the perfect solution for future USB-C computers and older computers like mine that only have USB 3. Did I mention how much faster this one copies over Thunderbolt 2 even with a USB adapter cable? Didn't expect such a pleasant surprise. Given the inherent transfer speeds of SATA 6Gb/s drives, I'm very pleased. Thank you again Oyen! No cons - the price is fantastic and the performance is smooth and fast - what more could you want from a box with a 3.5" drive? Oyen kicked this one out of the park!
