The product is absolutely worthless, don't buy it.

This disc is to hold your breath, connect it to your computer, throw information into one stream and put it on a shelf (or better in a safe with lead walls) until better times. More details below. I love miniature system units, I decided to collect even less and already three 3TB disks were not included in it. I decided to buy one 8TB disk for 16000r (not a small amount of money), since the three-ruble note was where to attach it. I read the reviews here on the market, yes, they were bad, but…

    Pros
    • Record volume
    Cons
    • Very low reliability, and this is the most important parameter in a disk, not speed, not volume, but reliability and fault tolerance.

    Revainrating 1 out of 5

Absolutely unusable product, not suitable for use.

I bought and took it as a gift to my father for the New Year in another city. The box was sealed with a film and outwardly did not cause suspicion. Items were not opened at checkout. The disk itself turned out to be without a film inside. My worst purchase - 100 per GB. The receipt says: HDDP Seagate STEL8000200. There was a Seagate folder structure on the disk, a file with a serial number, which we even managed to register, but there were no utilities. Seagate Dashboard identified the drive as

    Pros
    • Not detected
    Cons
    • The goods do not match the declared. The product was previously opened and the internal contents were replaced with non-original ones, despite the integrity of the packaging and an exceptionally new appearance. Actual capacity is 100 times less than advertised

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's the best purchase I ever made, I will definitely do it again.

It is very good that the switching wires are long enough. The USB cable is a bit stiff, but not critical. I came with a four-month certificate for Adobe Cloud for photographers :-). Many in the reviews write that it gets very hot, during my work the disk is moderately warm. But I use (so far) only for archives - I put it and forgot it. Included is a replaceable plug for the power supply (suddenly this is important for someone).

    Pros
    • Value for money storage, availability of USB hub.
    Cons
    • Haven't found it yet.

I really like the product, it fully meets my expectations.

The speed is quite, they don’t rattle, they don’t knock, they don’t buzz, they usually sleep. All of course, they were cut to the weak UPS.

    Pros
    • Normal for backups-backups. Unlike the old 2-3TB segates (out of 10, only a couple remained completely alive, and a couple with problems, the rest outlived completely - the heads flew off) These 6-8TB (HUB versions), until they die and show signs of this, I have 6 of them.
    Cons
    • Not SSD =) What could be the disadvantages if it is a HDD for storing information, and not for constant work with it. If it doesn't die = good.

I am amazed at how well the product is made, just magically!

I have been using this model for over 2 years. No problem. There is no overheating. Purely for backup or archive, the ideal solution. Not for daily use, although read and write speeds are good. If the cluster size is 4096 (the smallest), the write speed is 10-15 megabytes per second. I set the cluster size to 1 megabyte, the write speed increased to 120 megabytes per second.

    Pros
    • Cheap price for 1 gigabyte. Good USB-3 support
    Cons
    • Additional power required

    Revainrating 4 out of 5

The product is of good quality, there is only one minor defect.

The disks are pulled out of the box and inserted into the system unit in 4 pieces, with additional cooling of each quad from a 12cm fan. They are assembled into a single RAID6 array with a useful volume of 43.6 TB using the Adaptec ASR-51245 controller and work 24/7 without much load. The temperature in this mode is 30-34 degrees.

    Pros
    • Immediately, I note that the use is not typical. When buying, only the lowest price per terabyte was taken into account. For some reason, in the portable version, the price of the same disk is lower than in the regular desktop version. However, it is not difficult to bring to the desktop version. Inside the box is a regular Seagate ST8000DM004 SATA drive from the Seagate Compute series. (do not confuse with ST8000DM0004), and earlier versions had ST8000AS0002 of the Seagate Archive series. The only disadvantage of this transformation is the loss of warranty, since it will obviously not work to carefully disassemble the black box without damaging the latches.
    Cons
    • 1) Perhaps - reliability. For six months of work, the failure of one disk out of 8 purchased. That I didn’t understand it, I bought and dismantled another one to replace it. The rest work flawlessly. (Running time is about 6800 hours.) 2) The speed of work with random access and copying a bunch of small files is clearly slow. Creating an array of 8 disks took about 2 days.

One of the best offers, glad I bought it.

I read reviews about how such giants pour in with inept use, so I followed all the recommendations: - after purchase, I checked SMART, ran tests, fixed the read / write speed - I don’t install under torrents, I didn’t install any applications, I record in one stream with speed and temperature control - the main screw profile - backups. This is written in the title, and it is assumed in the order of work. Therefore, everything archived - to external, everything current, including downloading…

    Pros
    • Came by a transport company from Hong Kong to the Crimea without a single bad cluster. . alive and well after a year of purchase
    Cons
    • It was not possible to put it inside the computer: the disk case is durable, non-separable, and somehow I don’t really want to hammer it. Although theoretically there is a regular ST8000DM004 at 3.5 "inside and you can poke it into SATA directly. Therefore, it lies on a shelf nearby, connected by wire. Sometimes when you start the computer, it does not start by itself, you have to pull the power.

I am amazed at how well the product is made, just magically!

The high speed with which work can be completed is a benefit. Durability, as evidenced by the fact that it has survived multiple falls from the height of the table:) There are additional USB ports, which can be helpful in the event that all of the ports are in use. With these drawbacks: Because the wire is not securely fastened, it occasionally comes loose on its own. Memory devices are the only type of device that can be attached to the USB ports.

I use about a week. Hard censures, while, does not cause. There is an identical one on 4TB, from which all infa was dumped on this disk. I use it purely as a data storage, so the speed is not so important. When copying data to it, it shows 150 MBps. In my case, this is quite enough.

    Valuable purchase, nothing but pluses!

I will highly recommend this CD to my friends and family. Has some pros: Speed! Connected to the motherboard, I only have 3.0 there Transferred everything that is from the computer, now it’s not scary that the disk on the computer will die! And he's 10 years old. Has some cons: While they are not there, judging by customer reviews, they should not be .

    Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not a bad product, quite normal quality.

Unpacking andcomnnecting briefly Has pros: Stylish look and quiet operation. No noise, no heat. The USB hub allows you to connect additional USB storage devices. Different cons: Speed, in fact, 26-27 megabytes per second. The existing indicator is not at all clear why - it is either always on or always off.

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

Everything in the purchase suits, a very necessary product.

Some pros: I have three of these. Very pleased in work, two outputs for all sorts of adapters, charging, etc. Another 4 months of subscription to the package with Photoshop and Lightroom. Some cons: It heats up to 55 degrees during operation, hard drives do not even get 50 degrees inside the case

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

A great option for this money, one of the best offers.

With its pros. price, + High speed; + Data backup; + Extended manufacturer's warranty. Cons below: terms (remote warehouse) and more so far They are not, yet)) Time will tell how long it will last, we'll see, then I will add a review))

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

    A valuable purchase, some advantages!

Its pros: Works smartly enough for my tasks. Allows you to mount directly from it without delay. Has some cons It stands on the table, sometimes it starts to vibrate unpleasantly.

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

I am amazed at how well the product is made, just magically!

Has some pros Stylish look, quiet operation, not very hot. Glowing indicator on the front panel and USB host! now I have a separate bunch of external drives)) Some cons: Larger than I expected, this is not critical, but I had to make room on the table)

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best thing for the money, Im glad I chose this option.

Has some pros I filled the 8TB disk with video content and was sincerely surprised that the TV set saw it, everything is started by the TV player, without problems. Its cons: Dimensions . if only they could learn how to stuff the stuffing into a smaller box.

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

Wonderful quality, one hundred percent satisfied!

Pros below: Capacity, compact, easy to connect. Writes large files quickly. Has some cons In principle, nothing so serious, except that the TV does not see such a volume. As they say, you can do a breakdown, I don’t.

    Revainrating 1 out of 5

Second-rate goods, I wont buy any more.

Discs of this model have been purchased in two distinct places across the world. The discs were sent in their original packaging, the stickers on them untouched. Because the package was not opened at that time, there was no inspection performed at the scene. On the disk, it was feasible to write a certain quantity of data; but, after that point, the process would fail with an error message. After I reconnected the drive, it asked me to format it, but it didn't work either. There is a…

    Pros
    • There have been no reports of problems with the original discs, and they have been performing normally for the past few months.
    Cons
    • Recently, counterfeit versions of this model's disks have been found for sale at major retail outlets. An unopened package with a sticker on it contains CDs that have been tampered with. Examine the discs right away after the purchase, while you're still in the shop. 1) Download the Seagate DriveDetect program and ensure that the drive number displayed in the program corresponds to the drive number displayed on the chassis. 2) Open a program on your computer, such as HDDScan, to determine which hard drive is currently installed in the device. Instead of 8 terabytes, I was given 80 and 500 gigabytes.

    Revainrating 4 out of 5

I like everything, the price and quality are acceptable.

Shortly following the completion of the transaction, I simply connected the disk to the home server, activated the monitoring program (sintenel hard drive), and then began the process of copying the server's data to the disk using the script. When I opened the monitoring window again, the temperature of the disk was 59 degrees, and the copy speed had dropped significantly. However, by the time I opened the monitoring window, 2.5 terabytes of data had been successfully copied. I used robocopy…

    Pros
    • Only at the beginning does it yell loudly enough while spinning the plates; thereafter, it operates in a very quiet manner; its heads do not slap against one another, and there is no vibration. The speed characteristics are very much in line with the speed of the hard drive as well as the purpose of the hard drive, which is to store archives. This package comes with a power supply, a USB 3.0 cable, a manual, and the disk itself.
    Cons
    • overheated
