The quality is ok on the whole, it has some small flaws.

SeaTools for Windows native tests passed, including both the short and long generic hang tests, as well as the short drive self test. The evaluation in the Seagate Manager has been successfully completed; in this section, you can also adjust the parking time for the heads, which can be downloaded from the site. It is between 24 and 25 degrees Celsius in the room, the thermometer is standing vertically on the table, and there is nothing else in the vicinity. The temperature is 51 degrees…

Pros
  • Large volume
Cons
  • heated Powerful vibrations and sound waves The support offered by those in 2022 is ineffective.

The product is of poor quality, I do not advise.

For a very long time, I've been thinking about expanding the storage capabilities of my 4-disk Synology NAS. At the time of purchase on March 23, 2022, an external hard drive with a capacity of 8 TB from the Seagate Backup Plus Hub STEL8000200 cost 14,990 from the Amazon shop, while a separate drive with the same capacity from the Seagate Barracuda ST8000DM004 was priced at 17,390 for a share (18,590 without it). I went with the less expensive option so that I could remove the disk from the…

Pros
  • Unfortunately, I haven't been able to put them to use.
Cons
  • Before selling it to me, the drive that was inside had been replaced.

The quality is at zero, very sorry for the money spent.

The device is extremely fragile, and even without a significant load it could malfunction at any time. You run the risk of losing all of your data if you rely on this as your only backup storage, therefore you should avoid doing so. With such a conservative approach, I was surprised to see that the system had failed after only half a year. Even the responsive help is only worth one and a half stars at best. Some pros: In comparison to the prices of competing items, this 8TB drive is offered at…

A great option for this money, I definitely recommend it!

After reading reviews of other Seagate products, I anticipated that this particular model would also produce different types of noise while it was operating. On the other hand, I was pleasantly delighted to find that the CD is virtually completely inaudible. Placed to copy the data on it for the night, and it did not interfere with the copying process in any way. In order to hear anything, you have to be absolutely silent while you listen. It is necessary to download the Seagate Dashboard from…

Pros
  • + Adequately huge capacity + Affordable pricing + Simple to connect + Very silent + The power supply comes with four interchangeable plugs that can be used in any socket type, so it's ready to go right out of the box. Included in the price is a two-month license for Adobe, but I don't need it because I already have it.
Cons
  • Interface for the now-defunct USB 3.0 standard that uses a Micro-USB cable - The software is not included; in order to get it, you will need to do your own search on the Seagate website and then manually download it. On the other hand, doing so is not necessary. There is no power switch on the housing; in order to turn off the device, you will need to unplug it. - A flashing light that indicates that work needs to be done.

Perfect purchase for me, exactly what I was looking for!

I've successfully booted everything off antiquated computers, so the imminent failure of their hard drives no longer concerns me. There is no cost for more than half of the book. Plenty to last for at least a few years.

Pros
  • Quick writing speed, low noise, and a small footprint.
Cons
  • 404 Not Found.

The disks are taken out of the box and put into the system unit in four pieces. A 12cm fan is used to further cool each quad. With the Adaptec ASR-51245 controller, they are combined into a single RAID6 array with an useable volume of 43.6 TB and operate continuously without experiencing much load. This setting has a temperature of 30 to 34 degrees.

Pros
  • I immediately recognize that the use is unusual. Only the lowest price per terabyte was considered when making a purchase. For whatever reason, the identical disk costs less in the portable version than it does in the desktop version. Nevertheless, adding it to the desktop version is not straightforward. A standard Seagate ST8000DM004 SATA drive from the Seagate Compute series is included in the box. (not to be confused with ST8000DM0004), and previous versions contained the Seagate Archive ST8000AS0002 drive. The loss of the warranty is the only drawback of this change because it is evidently impossible to carefully disassemble the black box without breaking the latches.
Cons
  • 1) Dependability, maybe. One disk out of eight purchased failed after six months of work. As I couldn't comprehend it, I acquired and disassembled a replacement. The remainder is faultless. (It takes approximately 6800 hours to run.) 2) It is obvious that working with random access and copying several little files takes time. 8 disk array construction took roughly 2 days.

The best thing for the money, Im glad I chose this option.

Has some pros 6 TB! And very quiet (well, it rather depends on the instance). The power supply is 3 A, but the hard drive almost does not heat up for several hours of continuous recording. There is a hub 3.0. I did not fully understand it (see below). Reading - 130-180. Recording is pretty fast too. So I have not yet been able to determine whether it is tiled or not. By capacity - should be yes. But for the planned use (periodic backup), it seems to be uncritical so far, there were no brakes du

Quite good, but I expected more from it.

SeaTools for windows native tests, short generic and long generic hang, short drive self test passes. The test in the seagate manager is passing, there you can also set the parking time of the heads, downloaded through the site. The temperature is 51 C (half an hour of inactivity after use), in the room 24-25 C, it stands vertically on the table and there is nothing around. During operation, it makes a sound and there is a strong vibration every ~ 5 seconds, as if something stops and goes…

Pros
  • Large volume
Cons
  • heated Strong vibration/sounds Those. support in 2022 does not work

I like the product very much, fully consistent with my expectations.

This is my second experience with a Seagate external drive, the first one with a capacity of 1 TB has been working for about 7 years, if not more, but has long been clogged with files to the eyeballs, so I decided to take another 4 TB already. Drive smart, quiet, stylish. It is very convenient that there are 2 USB ports on its case for connecting other devices, for example, 2 more storage media, so as not to occupy ports on the system unit of a computer or TV. While the purchase is very…

Pros
  • Plenty of file storage space, stylish and convenient, reads quickly, works great when connected to a TV via USB, TV movies read from it quickly and easily. Absolutely silent, practically does not heat up. It is also very convenient that it has 2 USB ports through which you can connect more storage media! Without occupying the ports of the system unit or TV
Cons
  • Full formatting took almost 2.5 days. I always completely format all media from the very beginning (I have such a quirk))) But this is not a drawback, because in the future I do not plan to format it anymore, and what was expected from 4 terabytes?) So far I have not revealed any more shortcomings, I hope there will be no problems, like with his older brother Seagate for 1 TB, which is already about 7 years old, and it still flies.

I can't stop being happy with the purchase, a very good deal!

Excellent large capacity disc. I regret not taking it sooner. Got pros: 1. Quiet (works much quieter than regular "big computer" drives. 2. It turned on easily, it was easily determined, it never fell off in a day and a half of downloading :) 3. The presence of two USB connectors greatly simplifies the transfer of data from other external drives. 4. Compact enough. Stands steadily on the table and takes up relatively little space. With its cons. When copying data from a "large computer" to it…

A really necessary purchase, glad I found this product.

I do not use this disk for downloading torrents and other external file-sharing multimedia files. While heating and other "charms" of use did not notice, after the purchase I did not test. The actual actual maximum available memory is 7.23 terabytes. On a 4 terabyte disk, that's 3.63 terabytes. That is, when buying hard drives from at least this manufacturer, keep in mind that approximately 10% of the declared memory will be eaten up by its own software (respectively, even a 10 terabyte drive…

Pros
  • Ordered in the online store. Of the advantages: 1) there was the lowest price in Hong Kong (13600 with delivery) and the lowest weighted average price per terabyte of memory. I also looked at 4 terabytes (I already bought 2 of these from the same manufacturer) and 5, and 6, and 8, and even 10. I thought to take 10 terabytes, but there the price was already approaching 20,000. Considering that 4 terabytes of memory to me It lasted at least 4.5 years after the purchase (I use it to store music, photos, sports videos, etc.), then I thought that there was no point in chasing and overpaying for 10 terabytes. For other memory sizes from this manufacturer, the weighted average price per terabyte of memory was already higher. According to my calculations, this volume should be enough for me for 9 - 10 years of use until its memory is completely exhausted 2) large amount of memory (see details above) 3) there are 2 USB connectors - you can use it as a Hub, though I don’t know what it is for at all 4) when working, a bright, moderately sized logo lights up in a pleasant warm white color (on a 4 terabyte disk, a small blue light periodically blinks there) 5) nice mirror-glossy appearance, (but this can also be a disadvantage) 6) I don’t know if this is an advantage or not (compared to hard drives from other manufacturers), but the kit includes a USB cable and a charger for mains power with adapters, i. E. after purchase, the drive is immediately ready for use and nothing extra no need to buy
Cons
  • 1) as one of the users wrote earlier, now the connector at the USB wire is turned upside down, now you have to get used to plugging the wire in a different way, why it was impossible to make its location the same as, for example, on a 4 terabyte disk (where it is most convenient), I’m not very clear 2) a mirror-glossy appearance (from the new one it is certainly pleasant, but I'm afraid it will be a source of attraction for dust and dirt, and minor damage in the form of possible scratches and abrasions will be visible at a glance). Personally, I’m on my side, because I can’t show it at exhibitions, but at the same time I can’t exclude the possible presence of this fact, which can manifest itself in the process of more or less long-term operation

Excellent quality, absolutely not expected for such a price.

additional savings appear when you need 2 drives in the NAS, and the old ones are inserted into this plastic box and sold. if you need storage - this is a great choice! inside the disk has this: ST6000DM003

Pros
  • The cheapest 6tb. inside is a regular disk, without any tricks with a SATA connector
Cons
  • slow. But, this is more likely not a disadvantage, but a feature.

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I really like the product, it fully meets my expectations.

I compare it with the old 3TB hard drive that was in the box before (there was not enough of it, hence the upgrade). So: incommensurably quieter, incomparably cooler. Now he writes the fifth terabyte on himself, and I decided to arrange a “sweet life” for him: he is connected to the router and now he writes from two sources to 3 streams, so the needle in it jumps back and forth only in a dance. In general, I did this partly intentionally: you need to understand if it will not hiccup at such a…

Pros
  • Quiet enough. Doesn't heat up. Plows like Papa Carlo and has not yet squeaked (pah-pah)
Cons
  • Write speed, but maybe Keenetic can’t cope, but I haven’t tried it directly on the computer. And yes, 8TB is, of course, not there: 7.27 period. Be prepared for this.

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The quality is so-so, the price does not match the quality.

The device is too delicate, it can fail at any moment without a big load. Do not use it as the only backup storage - you can unexpectedly quickly be left without data. I did not expect a failure in six months with an extremely sparing mode of operation. A stretch of two stars just for the responsive support. Some pros: Moderately priced for an 8TB drive compared to competitor products. The data transfer rate is standard for a traditional HDD. There is a hub for two ports. Seagate warranty 2…

I like it, thanks for the quality product.

Average speed. Attached is a speed test via USB 2.0 and 3.0 and for a comparison test SSD (TOSHIBA-TR200 240 GB) and HDD (Western Digital WD10EZEX 1 TB)

Pros
  • Compact size Design
Cons
  • Real size 9.09 TB. Noise and creak during operation.

Just super, the product is made wonderfully, very satisfied.

Bought in February 2022. The speed of copying in Total Commander on large files reaches up to 100 Mb/s. I would like to use this disk in Windows XP, I have no particular sympathy for Win 7 and 10. Although they work, of course, faster and the fact that you can put much more memory is a big plus. I wrote more about connecting this disk in Windows XP in the "Questions about the product" section.

Pros
  • Large volume, now this disk has the best price per GB
Cons
  • temperature is too high

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I really like the product, it fully meets my expectations.

Compared to hitachi 4 gig. The temperature is the same - barely warm. For a day or so, infa was thrown at him without a break - the heating was warm. Wakes up at the same time as hitachi. Search, crammed 5.3 GB at a glance just like in hitachi. He lies horizontally, not vertically on his legs. According to the comments below. "not determined, tried everything" - what a weirdo I bought! I decided right away. They write "heats up to 50" - more than a day copied and did not warm up. Perhaps due to

Pros
  • Large volume. Low price compared to others. Quiet. It heats up a little. A USB hub will come in handy. Basically compact. Design (for those who are interested).
Cons
  • I don't have them

Revainrating 2 out of 5

I don't want to spend my money on this item.

I didn't expect it to serve me so little. Now I have a new headache: what to do with all the accumulated? Judging by the sounds - some problems with the positioning of the head. Symptoms: blunt during read/write. 100% active time at zero speed in Resource Monitor. Characteristic sounds are heard: vzhy-vzhy, tyr-tyr-tyr, etc. In S. M.A. R.T. several parameters are degraded. The first calls appeared six months ago somewhere. Gradually the situation worsened.

Pros
  • 1) at the time of purchase (2.5 years ago) there was a good price / volume ratio 2) does not die quickly and quietly, but long and noisy - you can take actions to save the information
Cons
  • service life - 2.5 years - this is already at any gate . especially with such a volume
