Review on 8TB Seagate Backup Plus Hub Desktop Hard Drive with Data Recovery Services by Trang Bach ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I³'m satisfied with the product, it³'s well made and the price is also satisfying.

The disks are taken out of the box and put into the system unit in four pieces. A 12cm fan is used to further cool each quad. With the Adaptec ASR-51245 controller, they are combined into a single RAID6 array with an useable volume of 43.6 TB and operate continuously without experiencing much load. This setting has a temperature of 30 to 34 degrees.

Pros
  • I immediately recognize that the use is unusual. Only the lowest price per terabyte was considered when making a purchase. For whatever reason, the identical disk costs less in the portable version than it does in the desktop version. Nevertheless, adding it to the desktop version is not straightforward. A standard Seagate ST8000DM004 SATA drive from the Seagate Compute series is included in the box. (not to be confused with ST8000DM0004), and previous versions contained the Seagate Archive ST8000AS0002 drive. The loss of the warranty is the only drawback of this change because it is evidently impossible to carefully disassemble the black box without breaking the latches.
Cons
  • 1) Dependability, maybe. One disk out of eight purchased failed after six months of work. As I couldn't comprehend it, I acquired and disassembled a replacement. The remainder is faultless. (It takes approximately 6800 hours to run.) 2) It is obvious that working with random access and copying several little files takes time. 8 disk array construction took roughly 2 days.
