This disc is to hold your breath, connect it to your computer, throw information into one stream and put it on a shelf (or better in a safe with lead walls) until better times. More details below. I love miniature system units, I decided to collect even less and already three 3TB disks were not included in it. I decided to buy one 8TB disk for 16000r (not a small amount of money), since the three-ruble note was where to attach it. I read the reviews here on the market, yes, they were bad, but I thought that no one was safe from marriage, and it is not known how the authors of the reviews raped these discs. I read about the new Seagate technology - the recording between the tracks, which made it possible to squeeze out more places, does not inspire confidence, but I decided not to doubt the "genius" of the Seagate engineers. I bought this disk, even in idle (but not in sleep mode) it warmed up to 60 degrees, disassembled and put the ST8000AS0002 disk lying inside into the system unit. Taught by bitter experience, I first ran the disk with Victoria before filling it with data. The run went well and I filled almost all of it with info (400GB of free space left). In the future, I used it like this: I downloaded torrents on an SSD, and then dumped it on a disk, I used the disk to store information. And 3 months after the purchase, I decided to download a large torrent (50GB), which did not fit on the SSD, put the download straight to the HDD, the torrent downloaded without problems. But when opening the files of this torrent, the computer slowed down, I thought for a long time. Holding my breath, I decided to check the smart, driving away the most terrible thoughts. And then. I'm attaching a screenshot, people with a weak heart should not look. The bads fell just on this torrent, which was already uploaded to the very end of the disk. I didn't even try to remake, I'll change it under warranty, but first I need to throw off 8TB of information somewhere . I'm saving up for another disk for 6-8TB, but from other manufacturers (on a beech W or T).
