I bought this to replace an old Seagate that was running the Seagate 'Dashboard' software. With the old version you could back up a network drive. Easy install with quick guide. I made some "settings" while superuser with a home network of 6 machines. Lots of backups, lots of PCs with 2TB drives, SSDs and HDDs. Split the 8TB hub into 5TB and 3TB partitions. I use the 5TB to back up my portable Seagate Plus 4TB.
