The counters are very easy to operate and for me, more importantly, easy to zero out. I'm using them for knitted projects. At first, I was a little dismayed by their size---bigger than what I had anticipated. However, the positive aspects of the larger size means I don't misplace it, it doesn't get lost in the seat cushions, and my cat doesn't try to escape with it---thus far! I love the various colors which assists me in assigning a certain color to a project.
