Review on π Reliable Powertron 72100 2.4 Volt Battery: Ideal for Welch Allyn Devices with 1375 MAH Capacity by Jason Geyston
Does not work with household batteries
Tried to charge for 24 hours. never worked I checked the otoscope bulb and it was fine. I then tried connecting the battery directly to the lightbulb and it lit for a few seconds and then went out. A significant problem is that the original Welch Allyn 72100 battery has the positive and negative ends sticking out of the battery, allowing them to contact the terminals in the otoscope. This replacement battery has indented ends that do not touch (see pictures).
