I bought several faux wood blinds from a discount blinds store. The blinds weren't bad but the cord frayed and broke causing the blinds to not work. It was the perfect answer. While I wish it was off-white, the white was close enough and looked like it was a higher quality cable than the one it replaces. The wife is also very happy that the blinds are working again (the brownie points at me.) The kit came with a tape measure and some new handles which I'll just hold on to as the old handles were fine. It was well packed too. And as long as you take your time and pull the blinds right and tie the knots close to where they should be, this is a pretty easy DIY job. Final tip: I got the lighter to the end and slightly melted the end of the nylon thread so it sealed the cord and kept it from fraying at the end. You don't need a lot of flame here, just enough to melt and then blow out. I take no responsibility, if you start a fire, melt responsibly.
