years later with an inexpensive solution that worked except for one critical moment when my neighbor's car was stolen and a criminal came into my driveway to check on ours Cars . When trying to go back to recording, the old system's hard drive failed and the recording was unavailable. The cameras and spotlights scared away the culprits, but it would still be nice to have this on camera. After comparing a number of solutions in different price ranges, I settled on an 8 channel 4 camera pack from OOSSXX. Prime delivered the system quickly and hooked up the system to a test bench before installing the camera to ensure everything was working. When using a Comcast XFI router, the first task was to ensure the cameras received the correct IP addresses. The Comcast XFI router does not allow you to reserve IP addresses, so setting fixed IP addresses per camera is not possible, so you must use the "automatic" option for it to work. (This isn't a bug in OOSSXX, it's an issue with Comcast that despite many complaints, they don't seem to address where you'd rather have fixed IPs for devices for this very reason.) However, the automatic fix works to get you with all cameras every time connect to. after Comcast initiates a network modem reset. Everything looked fine during the day, but when it got dark, one of the cameras didn't turn on the infrared LEDs, the camera switched to night mode, but without LEDs. The image was completely dark, only the part where the other camera's infrared LEDs were blocking the image was clear. I contacted customer service by phone (over the weekend), left a voicemail and emailed customer service. On Monday I received both a call back from them and an email from the service department. They gave several suggestions for testing and after confirming these steps, sent a replacement camera. I expected a couple of weeks for a replacement but 2 days later Revain delivered it. This replacement appears to have been knocked off in transit and had an issue, but again tech support responded promptly and a new replacement arrived 2 days later. Throughout this process, their tech team stood behind their product, stayed in touch, and provided the best service I've seen in a long time. Since these are POE cameras, all on the same network, I was even able to add some of them. Cameras from my old system, just leave them plugged into the old NVR for power (old cameras use a different voltage) and I can record 8 channels of video. With the EseeCloud app on my phone, I can access my camera from anywhere in the world. Bottom Line: While the NVR looks similar to some other brands (or unbranded versions), it's the customer service that sets it apart from all others. When I read the reviews of some big companies, OOSSXX is way ahead of these companies. In terms of price and performance, OOSSXX is the best option for a POE-based solution.
