I have been wearing Altra running shoes for several years and will never wear any other brand of running shoes again. but I clung to my Chuck Taylors for off-duty wear. Having recently been caught running many miles in it (and then suffering for days afterwards!), I figured I had to find an alternative. That's all! They have a cute retro style and the fabric looks cool and breathable. My fingers are happy, the rest of the feet are happy. Support is fairly minimal compared to some of Altra's other shoes to support and reinforce your foot. I always wear a 9.5 on Altra and 9.5 fits me here - this is my sixth or seventh pair of Altra, all in 9.5.
