Review on Empava Stainless Burners Cooktop EMPV 30GC0A5 by Taj Tyagi

Good product! the best of cookers, ovens and hobs

I wish I had bought this before, it's great! I made pasta for the first time today. I have a new 5 burner gas stove and it took me about 30 minutes to bring a large pot of pasta water to a boil. Today I used the Le Creuset Large Dutch Oven on my new Max Burton Induction Range and my water boiled for about 10-12 minutes and my pasta was cooked for a total of 22 minutes from start to finish. This was surprising to me as I used a heavy cast iron skillet with about 5 liters of water. I used level 10 to bring the water to a boil and then switched to level 8 to finish the boil. I stirred the pan several times during cooking, say 5 or 6 times, and my noodles came out perfect. It was easy to use and the instructions are written in clear English and French. Cleaning the hob was easy by wiping it down with a damp tea towel (there was some condensation from fast cooking). Most of my cookware doesn't work on this hob, but I don't see that as a problem. I have several pieces of good cast iron and just bought some All Clad items, a 6 quart pot and a 12 inch skillet. I see no need for additional items other than maybe a small pot. up to 7 people depending on who is at home during lunch. The product instructions state that you can use a frying pan up to 13 inches in diameter and weighing up to 50 pounds on the stovetop. My gas range heats the kitchen, which is fine in cold weather, but when summer comes I plan to buy a second Max Burton induction range to keep my kitchen cooler in hot weather. I hope my review will help you decide if this product is right for you. My advice: spend your money on this hob, but don't buy a lot of fancy new cookware until you see what you already have at home that works. If a magnet sticks to the bottom of the pan, the pan will work on this hob. Also, don't waste money on an induction cooker, if you need to buy something to cook, buy a frying pan with a magnet that sticks to the bottom. Update 10/08/18 I still love my hob! Works great, heats up quickly. This year I've used it to preserve salsa and made 3 different types of jam with a double boiler big enough to hold 7 liter jars at a time. Doesn't heat my kitchen like my gas range. This is still one of my best kitchen purchases of all time!
