Burnt out immediately

My slide projector eats two lightbulbs. I bought this one (made by GE) for $9 and the other one (made by Eiko) for $7. Both arrived quickly - free shipping with Revain Prime. I put them both in the projector. GE immediately burned out - glowed brightly for 10 milliseconds, then puff. The other one seems ok. Anyway, the other box said "quality lamp" and that was my experience.
