The locks work perfectly, the anchor plate has no adhesive backing.
Cable lock is what I bought it for as I already have space to lock. However, if you're buying this for the cable lock AND the anchor plate, note that my anchor plate didn't have the 3M adhesive pad on the back to attach it to the laptop. So to justify my 3 star rating. I gave the locks 5 stars and the anchor plate 1 star. 5+1=6, 6 stars / 2 items = 3 star rating.
