Review on πŸ’‘ Jerdon JS811W LED Lighted Vanity Mirror - 8x11" Rectangular, 10x Magnification Spot Mirror, White Finish by Audrey Talbott

Bright white light, huge field of view, cheaper but functional plastic frame

I bought this to apply makeup in a non-powered closet. It's on a shelf at shoulder height, so I needed a mirror on a short stand. This mirror was cheap compared to some of the more stylish metal mirrors so I wasn't surprised that it had a fairly cheap plastic frame. If it weren't for the LEDs I think it would be a quality product in the $12-$15 range. But LEDs cost money, so I think the $28 price point was fair. The 11" x 8" rectangle appears huge compared to the small 6" round I used previously. I like how large the viewport is. LEDs give off bright white light. It's not as soft as daylight and not as glaring as fluorescent office lights but somewhere in between. Natural light, incandescent or daylight all day. The LEDs around the frame are a bit annoying at first, it feels like the light is shining straight into your eyes. They are bright and getting used to. looking at them. I just focus on my face in the center and now I don't notice them as much. If you have sensitive eyes, you'll probably want to spend more money on eyes with more diffused light. That On/Off light is in the right rear corner so you can grab it with your right hand and flip it discreetly bright They light up instantly and brightly, no warm up time required The magnifying mirror is he amazing. It's 3 inches in diameter and they say 10x. I can't say anything about the magnification accuracy because I don't have another mirror to compare with. It is attached with a sleeve to a metal rod that rotates forward. or the back of a mirror. It can move up and down the handle so you can adjust it to the height you want. I only use it for plucking about once a week, so rotating it forward on its frame to use it and then rotating it back so it doesn't get in the way of my everyday viewport isn't a problem for me. I really like that it's not permanently attached to the front of the mirror so I'm not distracted by the viewing area when I don't need it. At the base of the frame there is a recess for small parts. I use it to put my glasses on when I put it on. The foot holds the mirror well, it's never tipped over on me, but it's light. I think if placed at shelf level in a high traffic area it will tip over if bumped. The tilt function works well, I use it every day and it tilts easily and stays in place well.
