These radios are great! Why pay $40 for a pair of boring radios when you can pay a little more for superior quality and features? They come with very useful features! Here are some of them: a flashing LED lamp for when you need to draw attention in a noisy environment, or just the lock to insert a key, or whatever else you need. Has an alarm/panic button that alerts others with a beep (one of my favorite features), an A/B switch for quickly changing channels/frequencies (also a favorite) when you need to talk to another person or group do both at the push of a button. FM radio so you can listen to your favorite FM station and still chat when you don't need to chat but just want to listen to your favorite. sports or news. It comes with an external speaker/microphone so you can wear the radio around your waist or slip it into your pocket for easy (almost hands-free) use. Pressing the # key locks the keyboard so you don't accidentally change channels/frequencies. *BEST* battery life I've ever had! 128 channel memories to save your favorite privacy settings and channels! It comes with NOAA weather radio and relay channels! And the features go on and on, it's better to experience them yourself, but they really caught my attention! I learn something new and useful every day! Definitely recommend these radios! MUCH BETTER than a pair that only has PTT, Volume and Channel Up/Down with 16 channels, they come with ALL 30 channels and the ability to protect/set them! And you get 5 watts and a really good antenna for a very long range that other radios can't match. A+++++
