There were enough directions, but the pictures were too small. The assembly is not difficult, you need a little patience. There is no need to force or coerce anything. I wasn't sure how well it would hold together once assembled, so I used commercial consumer grade acetone to paint over the joints of the plastic. Holds Vallejo Model Color and Model Air cylinders very well. Standard Tamiya paint cans don't fit the holes at all, while the mini cans fit but are too short to easily see the label. The drawers are deep enough around a variety of tools like sharpening rods, tweezers, brushes, tape, etc. I'm still setting up my workbench and don't know what else is out there. Overall it's a decent product, but $35 seems a bit steep for what it is.
