Overall it's sturdy and looks great in my hallway. The lower stars refer to the equipment. The camshaft heads were ridiculously bad. I originally used a 9V screwdriver to unscrew them and while they went in fine, the head ripped off completely at one point. I switched to a screwdriver and it was slightly better, but the tightening still compromised the heads. Over the years I've easily assembled 100 pieces of pressed wood furniture. 1983-1984 I worked in a cheap furniture store during my school days. I can't remember a time I've seen cheaper devices for assembling a piece of furniture. But it fits together well, is sturdy and looks good. But be careful and be careful. One error in interpreting non-text instructions and you could be in trouble.
