I used to store olive oil in your typical tall thin jar that I have had for several years. Recently I went to get it without looking directly at my hand and knocked it over. When it hit the granite slab, the neck broke and the oil splattered everywhere. I decided I needed something less heady, maybe not glassy but would still look good on the counter. I considered using stainless steel versions instead of glass versions, but they looked too industrial or utilitarian and glass was still used. I chose this dispenser for its sleek looks and mirrored steel design. It seems that it's not that easy to knock over and it certainly won't break! After receiving it and cleaning it, I wanted to make sure it wasn't leaking for some reason. I poured in enough oil to get up to where the tube connects to the body and then placed it in a bowl. After a few days I made sure there was no leak and filled it about halfway. It can take a lot and I love how well it fits in my hand. I've had it for a few months now and am very happy with this dispenser. The lid has an air hole to ensure smooth pouring and the lid fits snugly. It still looks brand new, no rust or tarnish anywhere, and the metal hasn't changed the quality or taste of the oil. I expect this will be in my kitchen for years to come!
