Review on Tofern Green Cactus Cat Scratching Post with Natural Sisal, Interactive Toy Ball, and Stable Base - Ideal for Cats, Kittens, and Pets by Christine Vargas

Revainrating 2 out of 5

There was potential here, but the scraper just doesn't do it justice

Unfortunately, I can't give a better rating. It's hard to find cat scratching posts that aren't an eyesore, and this one is definitely one of the most stylish I've seen; However, the good looks don't make up for the fact that the product isn't very user-friendly. Let's start with the good, the scraper is very cute, it arrived fully assembled so all I had to do was take it out of the box and my cats were all immediately very interested. Now for the cons: Size - while it may be perfect for kittens, my adult cats are too big for it. You can tell they want to jump on him, but he's too small for that (picture attached for reference, my cat is about a year and a half and a bit overweight). Even if they reach for it and start scratching, it's all about; If you don't secure it to the ground, there won't be enough height or weight to keep it stable when actually used. I think it would actually be much better if the ball wasn't attached to the base at all, then at least the cats could roll it. Finally, the glue that attaches the rope to the ball is of very poor quality and comes off after just two weeks.
