Great for lighting up a safe

Bought this LED kit to light up the inside of a safe. My safe is in my garage, which is lit but not bright enough for easy finding of things behind my safe. This set consists of six LED strips that come out from the motion sensor. The sensor has two power lines so the lights can be lined up in opposite directions from a central point, or the bars can be lined up in a single chain of lines going in the same direction. My lighting kit also included wire spacers so the light strips could be spaced farther apart if needed to accommodate different configurations. Another nice feature besides the spacer wires is the fact that all the light bars and the sensor are taped. I had no problem installing all the components on the sides of the safe, which feels like it covers most safes. So a few words about light sources and their installation. Firstly these lights are very bright, much brighter than I expected and more than enough to light up my safe as you can see in the picture. The light in my garage is on, but the light in the safe makes it seem dim. I installed the lights on the sides at the inside front corners and mounted the sensor on the side panel by the vault door. Play around with the setting before pulling the tape. Depending on the size of your safe, you can position the lights differently, and you don't want to mess up the tape before you're ready to put them where you want them. Second, I suggest going to a craft or fabric store and buying some Velcro that has a hook on one side and a loop on the other to hold everything together. I've used this to secure and cover longer wires which a) I think look better and b) keep the wires secure and out of the way when putting things in or out of the safe. Finally, install the sensor near a door where it is least likely to be blocked. At first I was tempted to hide it in the back, where it would be less visible and hide fewer wires, but as the vault fills up, the sensor can't see through the vast forest of steel drums and stock. I ended up attaching mine to the side panel next to the door and wrapping the wires with velcro. The sensor turns on when the door is opened. Conclusion: these lights are bright, easy to install, have flexible mounting options, the sensor works great and I would buy them again without question.
