Review on πŸŒ€ Optimized Vornado 610DC Energy Smart Medium Air Circulator Fan with Adjustable Speed Control by Nicole Walker

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Energy efficient, high quality, but powerful?

This fan definitely has advantages and disadvantages. On the other hand, fantastic power efficiency (2 to 40W) thanks to efficient DC motor, fully variable speed, long warranty (10 years) and hopefully durable motor, nice sound profile (not choppy), neat construction and removable cover for blade cleaning. Big Con is a separate power supply, like a laptop. If you're planning on moving this, which could be a fatal flaw for you, it just seems crazy to me, why not embed it in the base? Or provide a place to paste? For some reason, this stone is not in any of Vornado's pictures. The white color is a minus point for me - for a fan that I intend to use regularly for 5-15 years, white will not look very good after a while. Overall the packaging seemed well thought out and designed, but the power adapter was covered with many small pieces of clear sticky plastic for protection. Why are you protecting the power supply I'm about to throw on the floor? And of course the price is very high. Some people have complained about the amount of air it moves, I find it moves an incredible amount of air for its size and has a nice smooth high end sound. The amount of air that a fan moves is highly dependent on its size. Don't complain that it doesn't move as much air as your old big fan. It gets quite loud at high frequencies, but only in the highest speed range. Who should buy this? Eventually, if you use the fan frequently, the energy efficiency will make up for the higher price of the fan, and then something - there is nothing comparable on the market today with a DC motor. And someone will be attracted by fully adjustable speed, low noise and high quality. I will be using it to extract air from a damp basement so it will be running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for 4 months a year. It only draws about 4 watts on the settings I have enabled and should last a very long time.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Something different
