Review on High-Speed Transcend TS-RDF5K USB 3.1 Card Reader for SDHC/SDXC/microSDHC/SDXC Cards - Black by Aaron Romero

I have one of these, a bit older (early 2016) that I would give 5 stars for. These devices are aesthetically pleasing, work very fast, and fit almost anywhere that has a USB port. I received two more of these yesterday and they still work fine, but something has changed. They work HOT. This is something new. Worse, for the application I needed them for, they limit the performance of the SD card, apparently since we use them with WiFi SD cards. The cards used to work fine, but with these last few devices, they don't turn on their radios. Strange, esoteric usage, yes. But hey, with over 4000 reviews for this product, maybe this will be helpful to someone. Please note that the device works for normal SD as a drive function. I don't want to "call" them, but I wonder if they have to work so hard now.
