Works great with thin masks, thicker masks are a bit trickier

The first thing I want to say about this mask is that it works well with a surgical mask or thin mask material. It ensures good air circulation and is not too noticeable when worn. Unfortunately, a thicker mask does not do this very well. My thick sheet mask had a hard time getting proper airflow. I actually had more hot air as the heat from my breath wasn't clearing the mask. It also looked a bit awkward on the thicker mask. That said, it provided a good breath of cool air on my thin material and surgical mask. It also kept sweat out of my mask and also gave me a good way to let air out so my glasses don't fog up (I hate when that happens!). It's not too loud so you won't notice it after a while. You do that first. It lasts for several hours and only needs to be charged for an hour or two. You have to hold down the power button to turn it on. I'm not sure if it's just prevention, but it only seems to have a fan setting. You have to click it twice to turn it off. I thought it might be a different power setting, but as far as I can tell it doesn't get any louder or change airflow. The manual also doesn't say if there is more than one setting. Since I've been using it, the white tends to yellow. It turned a little yellow when I looked at the sun with it on my mask. This doesn't affect performance, but it's a cosmetic thing (there's no way to prevent it). It's not too heavy, so it camouflages well. When wearing it, make sure the fan faces OUTSIDE and not inwards, otherwise you'll only draw heat inwards from your skin. There is an LED indicator. One thing I noticed is that it takes a few seconds to properly boot up and get cool air. There is an LED indicator that shows charging progress and the like. Charging depends on the media used. It comes with a nice carry case and a simple micro USB cable. The battery is small, so it still charges quickly. The micro USB is under a silicone cover that I thought was a button. It prevents water from entering the charging port. I haven't seen many dust issues on the fan yet, so I'm not sure if you really need to clean it inside the fan too often, but from the outside, just wipe it off. Overall this is a good mask fan if you are using it on a surgical or thin mask. Unfortunately, this does not work with a thick mask. Most likely because the thicker material retains heat longer. Nonetheless, it does a good job of providing cool air for delicate/surgical procedures and also allows your warm breath to escape. That means NO MORE FOGGY GLASSES! The only other issue is that it turns yellow in the sun, but again that's a cosmetic factor. It lasts fairly occasionally and doesn't take long to charge.
